Tuscany is justly famous for its marvellous cuisine and for its astounding variety of gastronomic delights. Tuscan olive oil is recognized world-wide for its quality, but Tuscan ham and salami and the many varieties of Pecorino sheep’s milk cheeses are equally exceptional.
The tour begins with an abbreviated city tour which ends up in one of Florence’s traditional markets. We’ll give you a stall-by-stall exploration of Italian and Tuscan food culture, as we recount some of the most curious legends and anecdotes behind Tuscan cuisine. You will have the chance to try local specialities like “lampredotto”, a traditional Florentine street snack, or sample a wedge or two of Pecorino cheese accompanied by a glass of red wine!
